National Day of Climate Action – November 17

September 2013 was the hottest September on record.
The last 12 months were the hottest on record.
The last summer was the hottest on record, breaking 120 records.
Will this summer continue the trend?

Tony Abbott and our new Government are already going backwards on climate change. They’ve cut the climate department, abolished the Climate Commission, and are getting ready to try repeal a price on pollution and renewable energy funding.

Right now, it is more important than ever before that we make it clear that the majority of Australians want climate action.

On November 17th there will be major rallies held in every capital city as well as regional events for people to show their support for action on climate change.  The rallies are being organised nationally by GetUp!  A group of us from Sophia’s Springs will be participating.  Our usual 10 am service will be shortened to 30 minutes so that we can catch the tram into the city to be at the rally which begins at 11am  in Treasury Place, Melbourne.   Come and be part of it!

Wear hot summer colours: red or orange, and a hat. May like to bring an umbrella as well – especially if it is hot and sunny (or wet and rainy)
