Act for Peace Ration Challenge

The Burmese people have lived through decades of conflict. Hundreds of thousands have fled their homeland for neighbouring Thailand and now live in refugee camps along the Thailand–Burma border. Some have been living in the camps for decades.

We can show these refugees that we care about them by:

1) Taking up the challenge to eat the same rations as a refugee from Burma for one week, and getting sponsored to do it. A parcel will be sent to all who register with the exact same food rations that a refugee receives in the camps: rice, flour, salt, fish, split peas and oil. The money  raised from living on these rations will help make sure there is enough for the refugees to eat, and will show them that after everything they’ve been through, they are not alone.  Register here before June 9 to receive a ration pack.  $200 is enough money to pay for a refugee’s food rations for a whole year. Each participant in this challenge commits to raising at least this amount.

2) Sponsoring someone else as they take up the challenge of eating like a refugee for one week.  Details here
